The Hypocrisy of it All

Rice:

Well, we all know I don’t really like Michael Moore…

Believe Michael Moore About Capitalism Like You Believe Ted Haggard About Homosexuality

Trillionaire Wood:

Interesting.  I take it all with a grain of salt.  I look to him and others for information not to form my ideologies.  I read a lot of books on real estate and self improvement.  But I don’t take these guys words as the gospel.  I try to get some information to make my life better.  Because at the end of the day they are trying to sell a product.  That’s where their money comes from not the other “businesses” they claim to own.  The same is true here.  I don’t have a problem with Michael Moore.  Just like I don’t have a problem with Rush Limbaugh.  My problem lies in the people that take these guys words as the truth and form their lives around it.  In contrast to Moore, Capitalism is not bad.  The people that run it need to be kept in check lest the greed runs us into an economic recession.  Oh that’s right were too late.  Socialism is bad, but I don’t think anybody wants to wilfully put us there as Rush Limbaugh seems to spew from his gin soaked mouth.  And both of them make a whole lot of money contradicting themselves everyday.  So take it all at face value and form your own opinions.  And don’t get mad at them for making money.  You can make money yourself if you work at it because contrary to what Moore believes, anything is possible in the world.  You just have to work hard and have faith in God.

I’m Trillionaire Wood and I approve this message.

C-Mac:

Capitalism is good.  But I also believe that a totally free market isn’t good.  There needs to be limiting factors.  Otherwise we’d all drive Fords, use Microsoft, have AT&T, everything would be shipped via UP rail, etc…

As soon as someone becomes successful enough to be in a position to suppress others, he will, in order to protect his own position.

I’m fine with encouraging competition, but I just brought this out ’cause I like pointing out hypocrisy.

  2. That’s why I said capitalism is good. It’s the men who run it that need to be put in check.

    • Rice says:

But we have to be careful that in “checking” mega corps we don’t raise the level of entry into the market to absurd levels so that small business can’t flourish.

  3. I love the whole idea of “us” vs. “them”. It’s funny the people that give “us” a voice are “them”. I was thinking about the Michael Jackson song, “They Don’t Really Care About Us”. But the funny part is everybody cared about him.

So do those that give “us” a voice become “them” because they give “us” a voice and move up the ranks. Or are the only people that can give us a voice are “them”.

    Or maybe I’m just rambling…

  4. Rice says:

Point is that under the kind of government promoted by Moore people like Moore truly would not have the ability to “Make it” as he did, and dissenters tend to be silenced.
